We want to invest in talent management and leadership, providing opportunities and support to our staff.
This includes Individual Development Plans and opportunities for external development courses e.g. with the Open University. We also have a Succession and Talent Development Programme to help with both organisational and personal/professional development.
Northern Bank supports the UK Career Academy in conjunction with Belfast Metropolitan College. The Career Academy curriculum is a rigorous two year programme of study equivalent to 3 A levels. Northern Bank is a business partner for the Career Academy and we create work experience opportunities for a small number of students at the college.
We also provide mentors for the individual students to assist them during their work placement and provide advice and guidance. The aim of the project is to prepare young people for the transition from academia to employment and to show them aspects of business life. This helps give them the knowledge they need to make their career choices.
