This year's Farmhouse Breakfast Week was launched in Northern Ireland this morning when industry representatives met at CAFRE's Greenmount Campus and enjoyed a hearty breakfast courtesy of the Home Grown Cereals Authority.
The purpose of this national food promotion effort is to encourage more people to have a good breakfast which is proven to have a number of positive benefits on our well-being as the most important meal of the day.
This launch event really was a celebration of local food provenance with the involvement of the HGCA, Ulster Farmers Union and Food NI helping to promote the quality and variety of food and food products from Northern Ireland farmers and food processors.
Some seven hours later I can confirm that a good breakfast really does help 'shake up your wake up'.
