For Business eBanking to work satisfactorily, we recommend the following as minimum specifications for your PC and local network:

Operating system*
  • Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1/ Win 7
Browser
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer.
Screen resolution
  • 800x600 with 256 colours (SVGA)
  • 1024x768 true colours (SVGA) recommended.
Internet connection
  • Modem with speed of 56 kbps or above.
  • ADSL or a faster connection recommended.
Local network and communication
  • All communication with the Bank takes place via the TCP/IP protocol. To communicate with the Bank, you have to open port 443. For file exchange with the Bank in Business Online, port 1414 must be open too.
Communication
  • Internet connection via ISP or
  • Direct modem link to Northern Bank.

*Macintosh is not supported.

Other requirements

  • You must have Oracle Java (1.5.0 or newer) installed on your PC.
  • To be able to send and receive files, your PC must have a C: drive.
