MasterCard SecureCode adds an additional layer of security when purchasing goods online at participating merchants, through the requirement to enter your password before purchases are transacted. Some merchants will require you to use MasterCard SecureCode so it is important to register your card.

When you register for MasterCard SecureCode, you will be asked to create your own password. You will need your password whenever you make a purchase at a participating online merchant. So if someone attempts to use your card details fraudulently at any of these sites, they won’t be able to do it without your password.
You will not be able to complete a transaction on a site which is registered for MasterCard SecureCode until you have registered.

If you shop online with participating online merchants but have not yet registered your card, you will be prompted at the online checkout to enter your password. At this stage you will also be able to register for this service.
