Did you know that customers with a Northern Bank debit card can withdraw cash and check the balance on their accounts through the Post Office®?
From 28 May we have enhanced this service to enable customers to make both cash and cheque lodgements at over 400 Post Office® branches
across Northern Ireland.
How it works
Cash Lodgements
To lodge cash at the Post Office® you will need a debit card.
You can lodge a maximum value of £20,000 cash in one transaction and a maximum of £250 in coin although lower single deposit levels may be in place at some offices.
Cash lodgements will be credited to your account on the next business day after the transaction at the Post Office®.
Cheque Lodgements
To lodge cheques at the Post Office® you need a preprinted lodgement slip for your Northern Bank account and a Northern Bank Cheque Deposit envelope.
This will not be processed by the Post Office® but will be sent overnight to us for processing on the next business day. The normal cheque clearing cycle begins when we process the lodgements.
When you are using the Post Office® you will be required to make separate cash and cheque lodgements.
For Business customers using this service the charges that apply are the same as if you made the lodgement at a 'Cash Drop' in one of our branches.
Post Office® branches
Standard opening hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturdays.
Opening hours do vary across the network however, so go to Post Office® branch finder
to check the times of your Post Office®.
