  • Northern Bank introduces home insurance from Hiscox. Hiscox offers a comprehensive 'all risks' policy which covers many eventualities which a standard policy would not cover such as if you lose your camera on holiday or spill paint on your carpet.

  • With Hiscox you have free access to a 24 hour support and online information service which provides you with advice and assistance on personal security, from safety abroad to ID theft at home.

  • Hiscox currently offers a discount off your first year's premium when you buy online, subject to minimum premiums.  In addition, Hiscox currently offers a 10% discount off annual premiums for Northern Choice Plus and Northern Prestige Current Account Package customers. Please note that cases which do not meet Hiscox underwriting criteria may be referred to a Hiscox recommended insurance broker, and if so these discounts will not apply.

  • Standard buildings cover includes not only storm, flood, fire etc but also automatically includes accidental damage e.g. spilling paint on wooden floors.

  • Standard contents cover includes not only theft, storm, fire etc but also automatically includes accidental loss and damage inside and outside the home anywhere in the world.

  • In most instances, there is no need to list individual items worth over £1,500, or provide valuations. All you need to state is the overall contents sum insured and the overall sum within that for valuables.

  • Basis of claim settlement is "new-for-old" (meaning that any item damaged beyond repair is replaced as new).
